Escaping the office

Today is an absolutely b-e-a-utiful day here at Quarry Bank and I’ve thankfully managed to escape the office twice to take full advantage!

Firstly, it was to assist Rachel (our Visitor Experience and Marketing Assistant, and my boss) and Lesley (our Visitor Reception Manager) to take down all the decorations we had up for Spooky Tours. Despite it being a bit on the chilly side (and the ‘fun’ of tidying up soggy, spider-ridden decorations), when we reached the top of the path we all felt rewarded for our hard work when we stopped to take a breath and drink in the gorgeous scenery before us.

I decided there and then that I absolutely had to take some pictures to share with you all! Rachel agreed and sent me off with the camera to take the pictures featured in the post. Personally I think that today Quarry Bank Mill more than lives up to its’ picturesque reputation, displaying sumptuous autumn colour agains the backdrop of a clear blue sky.

We have today begun our winter seasonal opening hours, meaning the gardens are now closed, but you can still take full advantage of Quarry Bank Mill’s wonderful scenery by visiting the Styal Estate, don’t forget to pick up a walk leaflet from the ticket office at the Mill to make the most of your trip!
